KUCCPS staff being trained on the electronic Government Procurement

Staff attend training to ensure smooth transition to electronic procurement

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is taking part in ongoing training on the electronic Government Procurement (eGP) training organized by the National Treasury.

The training brings together participants from various government institutions for capacity building to ensure a smooth transition to the new government procurement system. The system has been adopted in an effort to modernise public procurement through technology. This is the second training for KUCCPS, targeting users who had not yet been trained. The first group from KUCCPS was trained in August 2025.

The eGP initiative is a key component of the government’s public finance management reforms, intended to make the public procurement process more effective, transparent, and accountable. The system aims at ensuring openness in the tendering process, improving efficiency in service delivery, and reducing the potential for mismanagement and corruption in public procurement and asset disposal.

Speaking at the training in Naivasha, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome lauded the government for taking a bold step toward embracing technology in procurement processes. She emphasised that the adoption of the eGP system marked a transformative milestone in how public institutions conduct business. Dr. Wahome further noted that the EGP system aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which aims to leverage technology to improve service delivery across all sectors. She reaffirmed KUCCPS’s commitment to supporting innovations that promote integrity and efficiency in public service delivery.
