Caution to 2016 KCSE Candidates: Beware of Fake News!

NAIROBI, April 20, 2017

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service wishes to reiterate that it is still processing the 2017/2018 university and college placement. The outcome of the placement will be communicated to the 2016 KCSE candidates, universities and colleges at the end of the placement process.

Therefore, the candidates and the public are advised to ignore messages circulating on WhatsApp and other online platforms purporting to be “breaking news” and misleading them to collect non-existent calling letters from schools. The Placement Service does not issue calling letters. That is the role of respective universities or colleges once students have been placed in their courses.

We will advise the 2016 candidates accordingly through the Placement Service website once the process is completed. An advertisement of the same will be published in approved newspapers with nationwide circulation. Any other information relating to the placement process appearing anywhere should therefore be verified by checking the website.

Chief Executive Officer,
