KUCCPS and Other Government Agencies Take Services to Subukia Residents

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) participated in a Citizen Engagement Forum held at Subukia Town Social Hall, bringing essential government services directly to residents.

The forum was organised by Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Chairpersons, Directors and Chief Executive Officers of State Corporations, alongside other senior government officials. It was designed to bring government services closer to the people by giving citizens the opportunity to access a wide range of services, connect with government programmes and institutions, and obtain information on available opportunities.

The engagement incorporated on-site, citizen-centric activities where wananchi interacted directly with government agencies, accessed key public services and programmes, and received updates on ongoing development initiatives.

For KUCCPS, the forum provided an opportunity for members of the public to engage with its services and receive information on placement, career guidance, the KUCCPS application process, and higher education opportunities.

"The government is very keen on bringing services to the people. As a Subukia resident, I am very glad that our people can today have the opportunity to easily interact and get access to government services, from placement services to birth certificate registration, ID and voter registration, HELB, and the Universities Fund, among others," said KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.

Secretary to the Cabinet, Mrs. Mercy Wanjau, EGH, who was the Chief Guest, appreciated the KUCCPS CEO for organising the event, noting that it was a platform to explain Government policies to the people. She assured the residents that the Government was working to deliver services and all its promises to the people. She appealed to the residents to maintain peace as Kenya prepares for the next general elections.

Also present was Mr. Amos N. Gathecha, CBS, ndc(K), Deputy Head of the Public Service. "We are here to bring to the public government services including TVET opportunities, higher education placement and funding, SHA, NACADA, and Anti-Counterfeit, and to provide information on initiatives such as affordable housing, among others," said Mr. Gathecha.

The event was also graced by the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, Anne Wang'ombe, and the Head of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights, Dr. Isaac Mwaura, among other officials.
