KUCCPS Issues a Second Call For University Application

Nairobi, May 16, 2026 – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application system is now open for Form Four leavers to revise their university choices or make new applications. The system will remain open from May 16 to May 22, 2026.

This follows the first application that ended on May 6, 2026.

Applicants who have secured provisional placement into degree courses have been notified through SMS messages and the KUCCPS portal. Unsuccessful applicants have been invited to revise their choices.

“We call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,” said KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.

Since the beginning of the applications, a total of 212,510 students who scored C + and above in the 2025 KCSE examination have applied for various courses, accounting for 79.1% of the 268,714 Kenyan Citizens who scored mean grades of C+ and above in the examination.

Some degree programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Engineering, among others, were filled in the first application due to high demand as compared to available spaces in the programmes. Hence, they have been removed from the portal.

“We encourage students who applied for these programmes but missed them due to competition to apply for available programmes.”

TVET and Other Programmes

At the same time, KUCCPS is undertaking continuous placement to TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) and Kenya Utalii College, noting that TVET programmes are offered on a modular basis.

Available KMTC programmes include Diploma in Community Health, Diploma in Mortuary Science, Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology, Diploma in Medical Engineering, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Diploma in Physiotherapy and Diploma in Public Health, among others. Eight certificate courses are also available. These programmes are available a rolling basis until they are filled.

However, programmes such as Nursing, Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy are not available. They will be available for September intake.

For Kenya Utalii College, Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry Management, Certificate in Front Office Operations, and Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry Operations are available.

The programmes are open to students who sat KCSE examinations between 2000 and 2025.

KUCCPS and KMTC are working together to offer support and guidance to students seeking to join the institution. Career guidance officers have been deployed in 23 KMTC campuses countrywide to assist applicants.

Additionally, KUCCPS has partnered with the Huduma Kenya Secretariat to extend its services to all Huduma Centres in Kenya. Through this partnership, Huduma Kenya Universal Service Agents (USA) – a pool service delivery officers – have been trained to offer KUCCPS services and support placement applicants in all the 59 Huduma Centres spread across the country.
