Chief Executive Officer Recognised as KUCCPS Wins at Internal Audit and Risk Awards 2026

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, PhD, has been awarded Chief Executive Officer of the Year (1st Runner-Up) at the prestigious Internal Audit and Risk Awards 2026. The awards ceremony took place in Nairobi on April 10, 2026.

In addition to this outstanding individual recognition, KUCCPS also secured two further accolades:

• 2nd Runner-Up – Internal Audit Function of the Year (Non-Regulatory Agencies)
• 2nd Runner-Up – Audit Committee of the Year (Other State Corporations)

Organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Kenya, these awards honour organisations, leaders, and internal audit professionals who demonstrate the highest standards of governance, internal audit excellence, and risk management across Kenya’s public and private sectors.

The triple recognition reflects KUCCPS’ unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, excellence, and robust institutional governance.

As Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wahome has achieved clean annual audit reports at KUCCPS since her appointment in 2021, a testament to her sound financial management, governance and leadership. In November 2025, the Executive Office of the President recognised Dr. Wahome for this achievement. In addition, KUCCPS has maintained excellence in financial reporting in accordance with Accrual Basis of Accounting Method under the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and has won numerous Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards during her tenure.
