JUNE 13, 2018
Every year, a large number of Kenyan youth who complete secondary school do not secure an opportunity for further training. The Government has established numerous technical training institutions with modern facilities and equipment across the country. These technical training institutions offer practical skills and competencies necessary for the realisation of the BIG 4 Agenda to put Kenya on the path of industrialisation. Unfortunately, some of them are operating with very low enrolment even as the Government continues to establish more and more of such institutions.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement service (KUCCPS) is encouraging the Kenyan youth to rise and take up these opportunities; enroll into national polytechnics, technical training institutions and vocational training centres and gain technical skills and competencies for gainful employment and self-employment and be self-reliant.
Students who enroll into these technical training institutions through KUCCPS will henceforth benefit from Government fee subsidy and a generous HELB loan.
