The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has been recognised for excellence in financial reporting. The Placement Service was among the winners announced during the Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award 2016 held on Friday evening at the Windsor Golf and Country Club, Nairobi.
The Placement Service emerged the winner in the Best Public Finance Management (PFM) Category, and bagged a second trophy after being declared the 1st Runners-Up in the IPSAS Accrual Category.
The FiRe Award, which takes place annually, is aimed at promoting financial reporting excellence, fostering sound corporate governance practices and enhancing corporate social investment and environmental reporting. The Award is promoted by the Institute of Certified
Public Accountants Kenya (ICPAK), the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB).
Participants are drawn from both the public and private sectors. The theme for the 2016 Award was Accountable Governance for Excellence and Reliability in Financial Reporting in East Africa.
