The career talk was scheduled mainly to enlighten the students about their decisions based on their interests, abilities and passion while considering the current and future career opportunities.

The program started at around 9:30 am with opening remarks from the Principal Githiga Boys High School who acknowledged the presence of the invited guests and then welcomed Ms. Cynthia from KUCCPS to give a presentation about placement of students to universities and colleges.

Ms. Cynthia gave a brief background of the placement service, its functions, the placement policy as well as a comprehensive illustration about the weighted cluster points.

The students were given a chance to ask questions and most of their concerns were about the criteria used to place the students, the requirements, the process of placement and occasions which the placement takes place. After a comprehensive session with the students, it was evident that the students were now enlightened on the importance and the benefits of the  career fair.

We left the venue at 12 noon and proceeded to St.Francis Girls High school Mang’u where we were scheduled to have a session with the Form 2 students. The program kicked off at 2:00 pm with a motivational speech by Mr.Thuku an IT consultant from JKUAT. He then proceeded to welcome Ms. Cynthia from KUCCPS who gave a brief background about the placement service and its mandate and majorly focused on the importance of choosing the subjects wisely in relation to the different fields of study. She further explained about the concept of weighted cluster points in relation courses.

Later we had a Question and Answer forum where the students engaged us in their concerns for example what particular courses entail, the subject combinations needed, the career that a particular course will lead to in relation to job employment.

The forum ended at 4:00 pm.
